Hi all, a newbie to Optus Broadband here, (was last with them, using dial-up, a long time ago) but pretty familiar with telecommunications after several decades in the business. Opening up their SIP to a single CG-NAT address to register on their SIP server would not only allow hundreds of customers access from that address, it wouldn't work when the SIP tried to initiate a call with the ATA. Are you using it with a different provider SIM card now? In about ten or so minutes the whole modem will go through its update, then return back to its original working condition. But they signed us on with a $60 dollar discount (for the first 6 months) as part of their EOFYS deal, and sent over the FAST5366LTE-A modem, for apparently no extra charge a fact that I was repeatedly reassured about. Does anyone know if this works with any data sim in it? Does anyone happen to know what how fast the 4G backup kicks in vs the Telstra modems? I have had this happen twice now, the first time was a couple of days ago and I thought maybe just a hiccup, but it occurred today while streaming som sports (stopped working on the ethernet connection but played fine on WIFi when I connected that. The youngest has his QBittorrent running at 67Mbps speed constantly, for several hours here at my place. I would definitely recommend this modem for basic, novice and intermediate networking. Experiencing the same issues with VPN with a client of mine. Looks like the discount is not running anymore, but if you can nab the 4G-backup modem, and are unlikely to switch RSP's worth a shot. Been pretty compliant when you state that you need to upgrade the router, and if OPtus dont do it then you;ll port your number and obtain service elsewhere. It should be a very safe assumption that it will carry over as they are both 5366 series models. According to the manual this is not connecting to the internet. My own experience, earlier this week after Optus completed the connection (some weeks after I started using it, but that's another story) and the modem switched to 4G backup in the process, once the NBN service was restored, it took the modem 7 minutes 32 secs for the modem to recognise the nbn WAN was present and then switch from 4G back to nbn. Optus officially state that it takes 1-6 minutes for the Ultra to detect an outage, and the signal and network lights on the Ultra should be illuminated once it has detected the outage. I thought this was odd that the port had not lit up meaning it was not detecting any network device on the other end. 4G backup won't work on a bridged device. Is it possible to clear the log?
